i just still dont know how to lubricate the hatche and hinges though.
i recently changed my front brakes pads and rotors as well as changed oil and changed coolant. gotta undercoat the car and clean the spark plugs soon.

ok this is how it goes.. hold the trip **** in and turn the key on.. wait a couple of seconds and its off.
this light just means take it to a dealer and get services according to your mileage. mainly just oil change,
tire rotaion, brake inspection and shoe adjustment, hinge and latch lube, and certain filters according to mileage.
nuttin major, i do about twenty of this services a day at my dealership.this lght is just a reminder to have periodic matinence
performed. this light will not shut itself by doing work to it. but yes listen to the others about your owners manny
as it will give u a chart of what needs done and when..

It is amazing that it took all of that just to get one simple answer.

yea, i had a similar question about my new truck, and the people at the dealership wouldnt tell me how to turn it off either... i finally broke it down to the fact that people that work at dealerships dont want to give away thier trade secerets.. that way they have job security, and you HAVE to bring your vehicle to them....
they were rude as F*** too... and no it isnt in the frikn manualandyes i looked.. maint. sched's yes,but not how to turn off the message.. i finally found it on a forum, and it involves the flass to pass and the brake and turning the key on and crap... what a pain.. you need to have an extra arm to do it all.

My 04 civ's is simple, just push the odometer button down while you turn the car on (not the engine, just the electrical) and hold it until the engine light turns off... then turn the engine and you're good to go!
