ok i was wondering if its safe to shift at 2500 rpm. i have been doing this for a wile in an effort to save gas. but i hope im not f'ing up my transmition in the prosses. if you need to know its 01 ex 1.7

Yes, it's safe, as long as right after you shift, your engine isn't almost stalling.

yeah, dont loke it, like when it sounds like its almost dying because the rpms are too low. loking is bad for it.

shift at 3 just for safe reasons. i shift at 3 all the time

it allways depends on the conditions, going downhill your gunna be able to shif a lot earlyer, uphill towing a camper with 6 friends and a boat on top, your gunna wanna..... get a truck.

i shift sometimes at 2,500, it all depends like neon3kgt said, if im going slow,ill shift at a lower rpm instead of accelorating for a long time, or when shifting from 1st to 2end..if im going up hill, ill shift at like 4,500 rpm...or if im trying to make alot of noise..about 5,000 hahaha, but the norm for me is 3,000 everytime

i also drive an 01 ex, and i usually shift around 3000rpms and my gas mileage is still around 35-40mpg. and that includes the times when i accelerate pretty hard and don't shift until 5-6 rpm.

i got a 93ex with a stock tranny when i shift from 4th to 5th and vise virsa i get a grind in the tranny, i think it might be the synchros but not sure... what are some ideas on it??????
