Default Short Shifter Help...

So I just had a short shifter installed (DC Sports brand). I think the installer jacked it up or maybe not.

Anyways, my problems that I have w/ it are...when I accelerate it makes this awful rattling sound like it's hitting something, reminds me of the a go kart taking off, it also rattles loudly when in neutral and sometimes in 4th, the last thing is that it's soo hard to shift - I think I'm getting bigger muscles from shifting, lol. All of this happened after the shifter was installed.

Before I tell the installer their an idiot, I just wanted to see if there could be other reasons this is happening or if there's a way to fix this. I'm a chick so be nice, I don't know everything about cars...still learning

Thanks for any help!

Well if your tranny was working ok before it must be something to do with the short shifter, look under the car and see if the shifter linkage or connecting rod is touching the exhaust or anything else for that matter, maybe you could get somebody to go through the gears as you look.

That, or it's hitting his exhaust, I've heard of a few cases where that happend. Stick your head under there and see if they're touching. If so, you may need to adjust your exhaust hangers

Ok, dumb question, but any idea where to get new bushings? the ones that were on my stock shifter won't fit the new one...does a regular auto parts store carry those? or any other idea as to what I can use instead.
