tranny cooler
Would the tranny cooler make that much difference when it comes to performance? Would it give you better firmer shifts and transfer more torque to the wheels? Also, what kind of tranny cooler would you get if you were to get one, I dont think they make them specifically for civics, do you just get a universal one or?

Transmission coolers are primarily designed to extend the life of an automatic transmission. The primary reason for upgrading coolers from my experience is to compensate for the higher fluid heat caused by a higher stall converter. I dont have any experience with honda transmissions, but I would suspect that if you were to upgrade coolers you would most likely not notice any gain or change in attitude of the transmission, though theoretically there might possibly be some.
you wont see performance gains with a cooler, but if you are going to do any kind of high speed or performance driving, it will help keep your fluid cooler and axtend the life of the trans itself. i don't think they make one specifically for the civic but it's not hard to piece one together. check jcwhitney

If you live in a hot climate, it would be very wise to install one as it will extend the life of the tranny by years.
This is were some will agree and some will disagree:
Your tranny fluid is cooled by the radiator, and the radiator is at what temp? How can you really cool something with hot water. When I install them I bypass the radiator and just use the cooler. I have found that the fluid runs cooler this way. Others will insist that you are better off using both the cooler and the rad.
