Default Tranny Problems!

Just had a JDM Gsr swapped into my EG. It used to be an auto D, now its a 5 speed B18C. The other night I was driving home and stopped at a light.....went into first no problem, wouldnt go into second and the clutch pedal felt a little weird. I stopped in a parking lot nearby. The car will NOT go into gear when the engine is running.....I turn the motor off, step on the clutch and it will go into any gear I want, just not when the car is running. What do you guys think is up? Its a brand new exedy stage 1 with a resurfaced OEM Flywheel. I had it done at a shop and im bringin the car back on monday, but Im just curious on what this could be.....anyone? I havent tried bleeding the clutch master but ive heard that will work........how do I do that?> lol I feel like a noob.

Yeah, sounds like bleeding is your best bet right now. Manual tranny will shift without clutch when engine is not working. Not all the gears usually, but definitely will.

I usually start with the easiest thing. You obviously have clutch disengagement problem. The easiest thing is the hydro line. You might just have undertightened bleeding valve. So you start from here, cause this does not cost you a lot. Sure, this could be clutch itself, or throwout bearing, or release fork - but all of them are located inside the clutch housing, and you know it's kinda expensive to get there. So you make sure that everything from the pedal to the slave cylinder works fine before you attempt to open the clutch... Oh, btw, this could be a shift linkage, too.

Im takin it back to the shop that did the swap, theyll fix it for free, but i gotta get it up there lol. I just wanted to see if there was a simple fix, like if tis was a common problem.. Im def not takin the tranny apart, I paid them to do it right, and thats what im going to make sure they do.
