transmission mount 01 civic ex
I'm not 100% certain on this one so feel free to correct any of the following and offer some advise.
I did a drain and refill on the trans (auto) this afternoon and did a bunch of cleaning in there while i was at it. I removed the battery and airbox so that i could brush off all the dirt before taking the trans dip stick out. I think it was the trans mount that is located on the side passenger side just off set from the battery. (this is what im not sure about if its a trans mount or motor mount.. i didn't really take the time to inspect. I needed to button it up and get the job done to get to work in time). in either case the rubber in the mount is torn and starting to spill out the back (facing the passenger) side.
I tested it (blocked wheels held brake, in D + R hit the gas) only the passenger side of the engine jumped. Not a huge jump, but a very noticeable amount more than my Saturn when i tested that for a comparison.
no clunking during shifts, no hard shifts, only thing I can think of is going into 3rd it will occasionally feel like it slips if i'm accelerating lightly. If its under hard load its a smooth shift. I cant explain that at all, no idea if its linked or just worthless fluff information.
question is: is my diagnosis right? are any of the symptoms/lack of symptoms connected?
I'm going to check out the chiltons manual tomorrow, are there any online tutorials/guides that would help with a mount replacement. on the DIY scale how would you rate it? I'll try to get some pictures of it up tomorrow
