Transmission Replacement Cost
Hey everyone! Posted this in another section before I realized there was a transmission section.
A buddy of mine has a '98 Civic Automatic. The transmission died and the dealer quoted $4000 to replace it. This seems a tad high to me. I had a VW Golf that only cost $800 for a new transmission (of course that was a manual).
Can anyone give me a rough idea of what it should cost if he didn't go to the dealer?
