Watchin it right now, what do you guys think?

I love the UK Top Gear, see if the US version can compare.

 

Not as funny as the Uk thats for sure, but the Viper thing was pretty sweet.

 

it was ok... i guess but the uk version is way better. the guys in the us version dont seem to know much about cars it feels like they just learn the facts and drive the cars lol

 

SUCKED! that is all.

 

I've read that they expect the later episodes in this season to start getting better as the team gets their rhythm.

I still haven't seen the original Top Gear past the first season. I need to catch up.

 

I wouldn't expect it to compare. We as a country are not blessed with the kind of racing and vehicles that exist in Europe.

 

American humor is rubbish. Tanner faust is a squeaky clean boring kid, fat nascar guy is a fat nascar guy, and the yank is a tool. Pushrod vipers are stupid. Freakin v10 k cars. Not my cup of tea at all. Lose the hosts. It feels like they are forcing it. Besides, jeremy clarkson cant be imitated. Jeremy clarkson is top gear. /story

 

I really didn't think it was that bad. You can't expect it to be anything like the original. The UK version has a big budget and amazing cinematographers. The US team seemed very awkward but I'm sure they'll warm up. Really, it seemed like they just needed to relax.

All that being said, Tanner Foust has the personality of a wet paper bag. I'm not exactly sure how drifting qualifies you as a "world class driver" either. I thought it was painfully obvious that Clarkson and the boys were way better drivers than Foust. Again, this could be mostly due to better cinematography as well.

I for one will be giving it an honest chance

I will still continue to watch it if I catch it, by no means am I going to go out of my way to see it, probably just dvr it. It is worth watching just to see them beat on cars like that, but nothing amazing.

 

it feels like im cheating on jeremy when i watch it lol. it just isnt what im accustomed to, nor did i enjoy any of it. not gonna watch until they get some witty hosts, if this show lasts more than a season...
