heys guys i wanted to make this a sticky since my 360 has been giving me problems and not wanting to read discs at all, well i used this link and took my 360 apart and followed the instructions and now its works perfectly and it was only a .75 cent fix compared to a 100$ fix xbox wanted to charge me.

was yours like saying "open tray" after you put a disc in? And after like 25 tries of taking it out, cleaning it, restarting XBOX, etc. it finally works, and then next time you use the XBOX repeat the process?

 

yes, that was my problem, and it fixed it perfectly
i took it apart and cleaned lens with a q tip and alcohol, then put it back together.

Just wanted to add an update. I bought a broken console for myself from my sister's boyfriend for $20. Did this trick and now it works. Score!
