I was just wondering if there were any previous posts about rust removal, and how to go about it. I have never done it before, and when i took it to the shop, they told me it would be about 1200 to get it done there. He said it was all the way through the fender and that they would have to custom make a piece to go in there. I was just thinking i could do it myself, its only the back fender on the passenger side. But i was wondering about if i could get some help on how to do it, and how easy/difficult it is, then i can decide if i want to do it or not

i could be wrong, but what they will prolly do is cut out the rust spot and then weld a new piece in there, re-paint it and there you go. doing it yourself might be hard unless you know how to do bodywork. is the rear panel able to take off? if so just go to the junk yard and find another panel, have it painted and slap it on. prolly a bit cheaper than $1200 bucks lol.

well its a 92 civic 4 dr, so the rear panel is like the whole car... so its not really possible to take that off

then it seems best to let a shop do it. look around, you can prolly get a better deal.

Paint over the rust with POR15 and then topcoat with the appropriate paint color. I use the stuff on my cars and bikes and love it.
