Default Check engine Light

Hello everyone

I recently bought a 92 honda civic LX.However when I travel through freeway and apply brakes at high speed my Check engine Light comes up.However it goes off once I stop the car.I have obsereved this only if I apply brakes at high speed.Could someone please help.

go to autozone. they will hook it up and tell u whats wrong for free. but it might be a crossed wire

Thanks for your reply.but the thing is when I called autozone they said they can check only the cars from 96 onwards.Is there a way I can check the codes my self

Autozone told me the same thing. The guy told me you have to unplug a wire under the glove box behind the kick panel and short one end out, then turn on the ignition and count the blinks, however if the light goes back off that may not work. Mine goes on at highway speeds at random, but when I turn the car off and back on, no light. Still trying to figure mine out.

This works sometimes.
take the negative connection off of the battery and touch it twice to where it was connected and put it back on and it should clear it.
