supercharger, turbo, boost??
sorry for such a newbie question but i seriously don't know much of anything about these except that they make your car faster. so what is the difference between them? what's better? how much? if someone can give me a little info on this i would appreciate it.
supercharger- bolts inplace of your intake manifold and has a belt that us run of your other pulleys. you have to rob power to make power. can still use a cai and header with it...
turbo- uses exhaust gases coming out of the engine that arnt being used and spins one side of the turbo and the other side(compressor) pushes the air back into the motor....
boost- is just the amount of forced air going into the engine.

^^basically.
we could argue for eons on this forum about which one is better and nobody would change their opinion (except sniper after he got a supercharger
). it all depends on your app really.

Riceburner they dont have to replace your intake manifold. Only the Jackson Racing roots type replaces the intake. Other ones such as Vortec sit in front of the engine and you just run a pipe to the stock intake manifold.

so i'd rather not ask which one is better....but which on is less high maintenance? like something i wouldn't have to be messing with all the time?

There is no drive belt with a turbo charger.
Long term, the super charger's internal bearings are likely to last a bit longer because they are spinning at lower RPMs.
Both can be set-it-and-forget-it systems, but, the turbo charger 'can' be high maintenance if you are constantly tweeking it.
