Mechanical Problems & Technical Chat - VSS installation help

Hello, I have a 98 Honda Civic LX. Recently the Vehicle Speed Sennsor went out. I was told it would cost an ungodly amount of money to fix... so, I went and found a brand new VSS for my car for cheap, and I would like to replace it myself. Is anyone familar with how to do this, without ruining your car? Thanks for the help. Take care

Should be mounted on top of transmission to the left of the valve cover, below your distributor. Just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. Shouldn't be a chance at runing anything. I did it on my car no prob.

thanks. I am trying to locate that, based of the civic's service manual, but I am not seeing it. does anyone happen to have an understandable visual aid of the VSS' location? thanks for the help jake
