New Member Introductions - 93 civic 300k problems was a give me

My daughter was given a hoopty with a few problems. After a new radiator, new fuel pump (and filter), new distributor and a new VSS and still have an engine light come on after it runs a while, speedometer doesn't work, going to install a new timing belt( its the orginal belt on the car I just found out). I know the car will be a great car once I find the final causes, but can I get a break, geez louweez are all the hondas electronic nightmares or did I just get a well used hoopty. Mechcanicly sound except the growling when we turned corners. But when we're done she' ll have good car to drive off to college, Right! but we'll keep reading and repairing. When we get to the let's make it plingpling, it her baby.(Oh here's a hoot. With the car dead in yard-no radiator- she has her boyfriend install a $600 sound system causes it got to sound BoomBoom, what ever that is, so she run down the battery because I refused to buy her a radiator till she explained the difference of the radio and the radiator. Well enough of my wining guess I'll searching out the next snapfoo on my darlings Hoopty.

dang that sucks about her installing a sound system in the car and running the battery down. the car is not even fully functional yet. but you better tell her to get a good alarm on there or keep it low key, because that could be a theft. also i wish you luck on the project. do you have any pictures of it?

Sounds like you know what you are doing, and yes when you are done fixing it up it will run for a nice long time.
