Default '03 lx sedan - just buy remote for keyless?

My friend just bought a 2003 Honda Civic LX Sedan. I previously owned a 1999 Civic LX and remember that the "base unit" for keyless entry was pre-installed. In order to get it to work - I only needed to buy the remotes.

I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true for the 2003 LX Sedan as well.

Thanks!
Chris

Does anybody know if this is correct?
Can I just buy a remote , program it and it will work?

You should be able to go to any Honda dealer and buy(or order) the remotes, they should program them for you for a small fee( I think about a half hour labor, but don't quote me on that).
