Default keyless remote, panic button

I just purchased a 1998 Civic EX coupe. The car did not come with the orginal keyless transmitter, but the dealer did give me one from another '98 Civic. I have programmed it to work the door locks according to instructions, and the lock part seems to work fine. However, the panic button does not work and the instructions do not mention anything about programming the panic button. It's not a real big deal, but I do like things to work like they are supposed to. Anyone have any idea about programming the panic button? I did a search on this site, but did not come up with anything. Thanks

Hey Solo,
Have been going through the car alarm blues too and can feel your pain, and my neighbors know it too! Many alarm systems are programmed using similar formats, and I have learned that many remain pre-programmed.
To program your remote try this:
Turn the ignition key to the "On" position. Within 15 seconds throw the valet switch from off - on (6) times. Within 10 seconds push each of your remotes buttons until you either hear a beep or the LED flashes. If this doesn't work your remote may not be of the same frequency...
Happy flashing and beeping,
HXville
