Personally, if you have the money.... spend it. If your trying to build up a turbo kit and run it on your stock internals... TUNE! spend all your money and some you dont have on a tune. Especially if its gonna be your DD. Get a turbo with an internal wastegate... set low more than likely and just run that. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.... those are all the tips you need.

about how much boost you can run safely depends on the turbo.

well what i origanally wanted to do was try to build a 300hp all motor but after some reserch i have found that is next to imposable and even if it could happen it would cost twice as much as a turbo. i have done alot of rebuilds but never have i messed with a turbo. i know this much i would like to push no more than 12 psi.

it all depends on the turbo my friend.... you can run 16lbs on a t25 and run 16lbs on a t88 and see 9-10x the difference.... here's a good way to look at it.
if you put 25psi of water pressure through a garden hose you have a nice litle steam.... but if you put 25psi of water pressur through a fire engine hose you have a WHOLE LOT of water. it's the same deal with a turbo. but i am curious about the same question as well.
guys lets say for $hits and giggles that he's running a nice sized 16g like the EVOIII Big 16g. how much boost could you safely run on it and how much HP would it put down? on a DD (yes we kno it has to be a VERY good tune)
