Default quick ?

OK so i'm going to have some free time this weekend so i was thinking of installing sum speakers i got for free awhile back..... my question is do i need to take the front door off on a 1999 lx or just take off the cover. The specifications on all 4 speakers are Dimensions: 6-¾" x 3-¼" http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...p;olderModel=Y

will these fit easily or would i have to modify them? I wont really need any other accessories or will i ? I was told its a simple install just take old wires and put it in new speakers and screw

Well, going from memory (which may be wrong) I imagine that you would pop the speaker covering off - If Honda made it so the whole door assembly had to be removed to change the speaker, that's a bad move on their part. As for the speakers... it depends on your speakers you buy. Most speakers (that I've worked with) need the positive and negative wires saudered on to the terminal on the speakers. Though I have seen some that you just screw the wire in. Speaker replacement is really simple, just be careful with the cone of the speaker (the part that actually produces the sound, the foam on top). If you're ever nervous about it you can always bring it to Best Buy or somewhere, it'll be cheap to install (they sometimes have deals when you buy the speakers through them) and if something goes wrong you have someone else to blame instead of yourself

They should have came with special wiring that will allow them to just clip onto the wiring. Then all you have to do is put negative to negative, positive to positive. You can do it by just by taking off the speaker grille.

Isn't the 99 civic the one with the 1 piece solid plastic rear deck? No grills to just "pop off"
