Noob question
Im seeing stuff around about camber kits. What are they and what do they do? Someone toldme it has to do with suspension, but if it doesnt Id feel pretty stupid for posting it in here lol. Hence the title, im a noob and trying to learn
ya they adjust the CAMBER when it comes to your suspension. in the front they are usualy upper camber A arms, and in the rear they are just called camber arms.
when you lower a vehicle you should correct the camber along with the toe, camber isnt as deadly on tires BUT LOOKS WORSE THAN anything else
heres my alignment sheet from my 94, tho it has something bent which threw off my caster, caster is the measurement from the upper and lower ball joint. since its only .1degree out of spec im not going to fix it.
and this is the STOCK and then the front camber kit.


and this is what the rear camber kit looks like compared to the stock part.

it replaces this upper arm with a adjustable threaded shaft....


they are very similar to the rear TOE adjusters which typicaly are not needed BUT i needed them for my civic because my stock parts where all seized up, so i decided to go ahead and buy some adjuster that i shouldnt have to worry about seizing up anymore!
its pretty much a threaded shaft with end joints.
they work great for alignment shops because they can adjust them to your cars alignment specs.... no guessing work.

well ya dont really NEED a camber kit. but it does help your tires last alittle longer and mainly looks a hell of alot better.LOL
but 1-2inch drop isnt so low that a camber kit is needed to much at all.

well first off rubbing is a combination of several factors.... MAINLY tire size! with 17 inch rims they should have aproximatly 38-42mm offset on the rims, tire size 205-40-17. typicaly people just have the wrong size tires from a foolish tire shop that guesses WRONG what will be the right size.....
but with stock wheels/tires should not rubb at all....
BUT MAINLY if you change your suspension at all first thing you need to do is get it to a alignment shop within the week!!!!!! because when you lower a vehicle it changes every tires TOE. so they basicaly your tires will be dragged sideways which will eat one side of the tires BAD! and next thing you know your tire has the inside tread all worn off down smooth! a 4wheel car alignment is DIRT CHEAP when it comes to replacing all your tires!
