Default 2000 civic cx motor swap

Hey guys,

I got a stock 2000 cx, looking to make a swap to a b16 engine. Which b16 would do the trick with a minimal cost. Was considering h22 but researched there was alot of work needed so prolly will not do that. Also does the transmission HAVE to be changed with the b series motor swap? Any info would be great. thanks

B16A2 is the engine you're talking about, or a JDM B16A. The transmission is specific to the series of the engine (B-series), and since yours is currently a D-series (D16Y7), you will need a different transmission.

Type R would be nice, but dont have that kind of cash at this moment. I have heard that it is possible to keep the current tranny but the shifting will not be smooth. any insight in to this? thanks

so b16a2 with the proper transmission. Would the gains be significant as it is a increase in 60 hp? I will add a catback as well.

Going from a D16Y7 to a B16A2, you should notice quite a difference. You'll gain about 60 HP at the crank.
