civic motor motor swap ideas?
well im about to start building a civic, and i was wondering on what motor swap would be the best? i was looking at the k20a2, but they can be a little pricey? also i was thinking about an h22a, b18c1, or a b20.any input would be great, i was wondering on what you guys thought. i had a gsr and i loved it, and it ran really strong. thanks guys
depends on what year you are putting the swap in. If its 02 and up you can kiss the H22 B18 goodbye. If its 01 or lower I say Bseries. K series is VERY expensive. I went against what everyone on here says and attempted to do a Kswap and now Im 5k in the hole and trying to just get my money back. Kswap (regaurdless of which model) is going to run you about 8k done right (unless youre really good at finding used parts). Honest opinion, sell yours and buy A car. I could have bought a salvaged SRT4, RSX typeS, or B18 civic for how much Ive spent so far on the swap, that isnt even going to happen.
Yeah.. I'd rather spend $8k on internals, and a good turbo then a K20a2.. Honestly, I could get better results with that much money. Though if you want serious power and a good platform, the K20a2 would be the way to go. But as for me, i'd be satisfied with 250hp from a D17.
