Engine management light Code P0171
Hi All!
I took my 02 Civic 1.6 SE Executive (petrol) into Honda garage in UK after the engine managment light remained on. (It actually came off the morning I tookthe carin to the garage!)
They told me that there was a saved code, which said the mixture was too lean, (P0171). They didnt know however what could be causing the problem. The cars done 48k miles so I had a service done privately. The plugs were messy, but the light has started to come on again infrequently. When the plugs were changed my mechanic noticed some seapage around one of the coil packs. Could this have caused the code P0171 ?
Somone told me that it could be the Lambdar sensor (02 Sensor)? - if so which one?. Could it alsobe the MAP.Could it be theFuel filter, (although I understand that this is actually in the petrol tank on this car.)
The car has been well looked after, regular services etc, and is driven by my wife. We have never had any mechanical probs, except general maintenance.
Any advice would be much appreciated,
Thanks
Andy
