Hondas have loud engine?

RE: Hondas have loud engine?
What kind of Toyotas are we comparing it to? I had a 96 corolla that was really "quiet", but then again, I had a 22r RN60 that was "loud". My point is, both of these cars run perfect and that sometimes engines are just louder than others. Also, other guys mentioned "loud, is like saying I went far." What is loud?

RE: Hondas have loud engine?
my new civic seems a little loud, but I like it. I'm sure once I tore out that crazy air box and put in a nice cold air intake system I would get a nice houl out of my engine. Am I the only one that likes engine noise?

RE: Hondas have loud engine?
i drove a few cars, and honda engines do seem a bit loud, but also honda cars really have ****ty sound deadening materials, so you will hear a lot of excess road noise and engine noise that in others cars you won't hear.
i had a chance to drive 3 jettas from the vw dealership, the 2.0 4 cylinder with a 5spd was loud and powerless (much like a stock civic) it had alot of engine noise, the 1.8t, this engine was quiet, and powerful, hand a lot of torque but it was real smooth, then the jetta vr6, this v6 was just crazy, you step on the gas you hear a nice roar from the engine, and it just pulled so hard and fast.
so all engine do produce different amounts of noise which is completely normal
