Let me guess, you were installing glow gauges?

Anyway, yes, you have to replace it if you want it again. They don't grow back.

The dealership does, but it is much less expensive to just buy an entire used gauge cluster on ebay and then swap that fuel gauge into your car.

What trim level is it (EX, LX, DX)? And what transmission?

Alright.

Here's one from an LX. The only difference is that it has a tachometer. The redline is correct, as the LX and DX share the same engine.

It will all plug and play. If you want to retain the correct odometer reading it would be best to swap the speedometer gauge from your old cluster into this one. The odometer can be rolled back but swapping them is more simple. Basically, once you remove the gauge cluster you take it apart (which I assume you know how to do since it seems you somehow accessed the needle and broke it). Then on the back of the gauge cluster are 4 screws in a square pattern behind the speedometer. Those hold the speedometer into the cluster.

if the tachometer does not concern you, here is a DX cluster (the only one I could find that wasn't in auction format)
