I have a 2005 civic ex. I would like to put a factory Nav in it. I have found several on E bay for both Civic and Acoords. Will either one work in this vehicle. Has anyone out there ever attempted an upgrade?

 

It is possible. I traded an '01 Odyssey when I bought my Civic. When I was researching the minivan before I bought it, I found a web forum like this one (Ody Club) and there was one person who was upgrading his standard Odyssey EX to a Navi model. He was able to get it done and had a few teething problems along the way but eventually succeeded. Please don't ask me for details, that was 5 years ago.

Anyway, what I remember most about reading his story is, that's a LOT of work and expense to do this. I'm not sure it's worth it. The Odyssey owner wound up paying almost as much for his "do it yourself" project as he would have it he'd just bought the van with the option already installed. There's more to it than just installing the screen and DVD reader.
