Mini me swap, NEED HELP!!!
Hey guys i know this thread has been started a million times and i appologize but i cant seem to find the answer im looking for and it might be so simple and in my face but i need guidance.
I have a 99 civic EX manual and i know that they come factory with Y8 Vtec but some owner before me decided it was a good idea to take a vtec motor out this car and put in a Y7. My question is how can i get this back to vtec without swapping motors, would the mini me swap be effective? does it even apply? Its currently not running due to a blown head gasket and i found a vtec Y8 head that has been machined already for 100 bucks and would like to take advantage of this. The car has the factory p2p ecu. What can i do guys, i would appreciate any and every answer and again sorry im a newb to the forum, thanks everyone.

It will be simple. The main trick is to be sure there is no oil restrictor in the oil hole in the back center of the block. Non- VTEC heads use the restrictor and VTEC ones don't. So, pull the oil restrictor out of the block. Install VTEC head. Plug in VTEC solenoid.
