Hi there. Besides a couple mechanical issues I'm looking into, I'm having a hell of a time fighting a trunk leak from my flapper vent. I've cleaned the area up and have tried various glues and sealants that appear to fail after a short time. I've found that I have the best luck with simple silicone tub / sink sealant, but what I'd really like to do is seal this stupid vent up from the outside, which requires removing the bumper. I have looked at the various screws / clips to be removed in the manual, and while it theoretically looks simple, I'd like to know how much of a pain this is, and how many plastic retainers I'm likely to break getting this thing off. Is this fairly easy for a newbie? Must..... keep... the water... out!!! lol

 

Anyone ever remove the rear bumper cover? If it's anything like the clips I've removed from the trunk liner, they will shatter into a million pieces. Just trying to figure out whether of not I should anticipate this on the rear bumper cover too…

 

no the clips have a round center in them that you stick a screw driver into and pop the center out than the clip will come out its pretty easy to take them off without cracking em

there should be five when you open trunk on top of bumper and one in each fender well and 2 underneath if i remember right.... mine were all clips but thats cuz i put them in so yeah.. if there is any bolts in those area just unbolt them

if you do snap any wich you prob wont just go on ebay and they sell them i forgot seller name but search civic bumper clips
