Default EX civic intake manfiold swap to a LX civic

Hey guys I have a question...

I read the the 97-2000 EX d16y8 intake manfold s are a upgrade to a 1999civic LX... is this true 5-7 hp by swaping them out.. Is it a straight bolt on?

I have a automatic LX does that make a differnce ?

as far as a 5-7 hp upgrade idk but yes it does have better flow than a lx manifold and yes it is straight bolt on if you have the rest of the intake to go with it.

No, you can't use your intake... at least you can't use the tube. You might be able to use the air box though (I am referring to stock intake... if you have aftermarket then you'll have to get a whole new intake).

BTW, there is also some stuff involved with the IACV, I think.

I think HX has extra stuff on it for the EGR system but don't quote me on that.
