Default Air Intake ebay intake v.s. name brand intake

Are ebay intakes just as good or much worst than name brand air intake like aem. I've heard many stories about intake off of ebay like they might over heat. Should i save up money and by a 300 dollar air intake or go ahead and by one off of ebay. I have a 93 honda civic

Well, it really depends on what name-brand intake we're dealing with here. For most intake systems (AEM's normal cold-air or short-ram), I think all that really matters is the filter. A tube isjust a tube, for the most part. Now when you get into the more advanced intakes (AEM V2 cold-air, Weapon R's Dragon short-ram), which are designed for the best possible air flow, the name brand intakes are definitely better than ebay's.

I say if you're going to get a short-ram system, just get a short-ram tube from ebay, then get a good filter, such as a K&N or AEM filter. If you want cold-air, I'd say save up for a V2.

go ahead and buy the one off of ebay. just make sure you get a quality filter. for many people, "a pipe is a pipe." keep in mind that ebay auto stuff in general are not guaranteed to fit perfectly.

note: i'm just repeating what others say. i personally have an aem v2. i just prefer to buy quality parts for my car

overheat????? wtf, you need some new friends lol Get an ebay kit with a new filter K&N or AEM. Thats the one problem with the ebay intakes is the filter's, they suck. It also wont fit as well as a 300 dollar one, but the extra 30 cents with some strategically placed zip ties fixes that problem. Also the extra 1 hp ull get with the 300$ ones is not gonna be garunteed with ebay kit because theres no research and development put into them. But wtf is one hp???? you wont know the difference, save ur cash go ebay...............

thats an mr2, not a civic, completely different engine setup. ebay intake is fine for what u pay for, just get a new filter like everyone else has said. next time search, questions about simple stuff like intake have been covered countless of times.
