06/07 Civic iPod Compatibility
I was recently in my friends 06 Civic and she had her iPod connected to the 12 volt cigarette lighter with an adapter, and from what I saw it had no FM transmitter or anything of that sort, the car was reading through the 12 volt charger and it was able to be controlled by the dash/steering wheel and displayed song names and such info as well. It wasn't the iPod Link that runs from the glove box. Can anyone verify this works? (charges and plays with just that one cable)
interesting... all i know is that there are ipod links that allows you to control your ipod thru factory stereo controls, but this device needs to be attached to the rear of the OEM headunit as a cd changer. maybe the lanyard connector is connected somewhere hidden?
yeah there are cables that do both, but u say the stock radio displayed the track info, that would have to either be some option because no fm trans allows the steering wheel controls to control the ipod, is it possible she was using the mp3 imput that is located very close to the cig lighter jack?(even though she still couldnt control through steering wheel)
