im getting my 4 channel amp today but i figured isntead of getting it installed i would do it myself...i have some expericne i just have one questions...can i just run all the wires up to behind the deck and connect all the speaker connections to to wires or do they have to go directly to the speakers....

 

like for example can i have the front left (+) connected behind the deck as usual and have that same wire from the amp run up and come into that wire....or if i cant do that do i jsut disconnect the decks speaker connections and then just run the amps wires up there

 

Run wires from the amps. Use good/thick speaker wire to connect them. That's what i did with mine, and they sound great.

 

you can do it that way where you run 4 sets of wires to behind the radio and then run the wires back to the amp like you would your RCA wires

the best would be to run your own wires to each speaker for the simple fact that your Honda speaker wires going from the radio back is only 18 gauge sometimes they put different speaker size wires( depending on what year )

Ohms law will only allow certain amount ofcurrent to pass on those wires because there small so if you wantsound that you want run your own wires that are thicker so you can get the right amount of voltage and current running through it

EXAMPLE if you have a 800 watt amp and you have 200 watt door speakers the basic recommendation is that you use 16 gauge wire , your stock wire is not thick enough , it will work but you wont be getting what you payed for

some companies say its OK to use 18 gauge when its supposed to be 16 but that's them saying "it will still work "
