1998 Civic

I have installed a Kenwood and Pioneer deck with ease on other vehicles. I just want to know what im getting myself into with this upgrade. What is the difficulty and does anyone have instructions on how to get the stock equipment out?
What needs to be removed in order to get to the head unit? Im looking @ getting an Alpine or Kenwood, because they have iPod software equiped. Has anyone linked their iPod with a deck b4? Whats up with the keyless entry being wired to the head unit? How can i bypass that?

i havean alpine with the ipod adapter box. it is easy to hook up. you plug the one cable into to back of the radio in the cd changer plug then into the box. the other cable goes from the box to the ipod. you cannot use your ipods click wheel while pluged in, only through the radio can you use the ipod.


personally i don't like the ipod inteface because i have 4000 songs and yuou can only search through the bands in alphbetical order a to z so it takes forever to turn the volume **** to get to band you want to listen too.

try a radio with a front input jack because it is way more convenient especially when your driving.


also you cant use the remote to control the alpine
