alarm aux's
i have a compustar 2W8000FMR remote paging alarm on my car. the alarm has 2 auxillary functions for things such as automatic trunk release. my car doesnt have an electric trunk release, it uses a cable system therefore i cant use the auto trunk release. what i want to figure out is if i can attach some leds to the aux wire from the brain of the compustar where the trunk release would be wired in. also if i did that would it give a constant electric signal or possibly only flash the lights with an electric pulse. know what i mean? i figure it would be pretty cool if i could turn on my halo's with my alarm remote. oh and if it is only a pulse is there a type of switch i could wire in to keep the lights on?
I think Addiction would be the one to answer your question best...
but from my understanding the AUX settings let out a burst of electricity, so it would sent current to the trunk release only for a second. Because of this, I am sure that you can wire up your lights to this, so they turn on using the AUX button, however, I am not sure that I know how to keep them turned on, unless the current went to a light relay, but I am also sure that I could look at the setup and wire up after a while of thinking about it. Like I said, addiction might be able to answer this one best.

well..you could always get a trunk release kit like i did...but now im in the same situation you are, my alarm has so called aux but i have no idea how to get them to work....im thinking if i go to an alarm place they could help me out...so maybe you could do that to....
any auxilary outputs that are onmost alarms are pre-programmed to be only a pulsed out put for a specifc amount of time. the length of time can be changed, but its still for a limited amount of time. most alarms default around .8 sec. and max out around 3.5 sec. im sure that there is a way to do it using relays and switches, but i dont know how to get the leds to stay turned on.
