alarm and remote start on standard trans
ya i actually work for best buy, and before you say anything about best buy installers, cuz i know a lot of them suck, just know that the bay that i work at is one of the best in the company and has hadone of the leastamount of damage claims. we havent actually had any real damage claims in about a year and a half, and that was somethin really cheap and easy to fix. and the only ultimate around here went out of business a while back and i actually work with a couple of people from there (not installers though). but what i was tryin to say is that there are so many installers that best buy doesn't pay to actually send people to any trainings. they may send the head intaller every once in a while, but never any of the normal part time guys like me. so i just have to settle with the online training stuff that they give us. which on most occasions is pretty helpfull
but anyway, that seems like a pain to do just to get the remote start to work, but i guess thats sort of the point.
and addiction, we are all pretty luck that we drive hondas cuz if you have an auto and want remote start, there are no extra modules. but if you have a newer chevy, ford,or some chrystlers, they need modules that cost anywhere from 50 to 80 to bypass the chip in the keys.

actually best buy is our only real competion in our city... i get along with the installers over there if we need a kit they have they always hook us up...and sometimes they come over and get interfaces from us....
do they give you the DEI tranning manual there....i get a new one every year and our shop has a couple extra copies if you want one i can send ya a copy, i've found them to be pretty helpfull especially with the newer cars and they cover the new interfaces that they have....they bought out some other companies this past year and now own the patents on some pretty tight interfaces that you can download differnt platforms for ....so you wont have to keep so many different models in stock......yesterday i used the xk510 i believe it was called on a 07 acura TL and it did the factory disarm for you so i didnt have to go in the door to get it at the switch plus it did the imobilizer bypass so i didnt need to use a 556h or a 556u it saved me about 45 minutes and the customer didnt have to give up a key...

I have remote star and have gotten it installed in two stick shift cars, they didnt want to, but if you talk to them and be cool with them, they will just make you sign a waiver.
P.S. i ALWAYS leave my car in neutral, and they wired it so the car wont start without the ebrake on.

and also where do you work at?
hey boss.. i did not bother to read any of the other posts so if this was already said nvm. When i used to install remotes on a man. first off the Clutch has to be bypassed. and second of just leave your car in neuteral with the ebrake on . umm but i would put a switch out of the way so if you loan the car to a friend or wtvr you hit the switch and it disables the remote starter , so if they leave it in gear and go to start it it will not work but the alarm is still fully functional. and if ur key has a chip that needs to be bypassed also.
