You know that the sound level doubles every 3dB right?

I disagree....I have a type-X in a vented box with the alpine V12 M1005 amp and it pounds like a champ! I have had it since November and I bang the LIVING CRAP OUT OF IT! Not one problem! I say vented!

Huh?
If you're talking about the human ear precieving a doubling of loudness every 3db, I think (but maybe I'm wrong) that the human ear precieves a 10db gain as being double the sound level. [sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

A 3 dB increase in the level of continuous noise doubles the sound power, however experimentation has determined that the response of the human ear results in a perceived doubling of loudness for approximately every 10 dB increase (part of Stevens' power law).

I just got my civic a few weeks ago, but I've got an Orion h2 12" in a 1.5ft^3 box tuned to 31hz and a JL 1000/1 (<--Picked up the amp from my cousin for a hell of a deal) sitting here waiting to be installed once I get a new Eclipse h/u (sold my Pioneer POS n1 with my old truck). I've also got an Orion 4004 to power whatever speakers I decide to pick up.
So it's gonna be:
Eclipse h/u
Then some nice components/ Orion 4004 bridged
Then a new h.o. alt.
Then I'll throw the sub/amp in.
Then you can have all the pics you want.

I'm in the same boat as you. Lots of ideas, little cash.

I gotcha right here.

I run an Eclips 8445 and Infinity Kappa Perfects all the way around. I need to get a 4 channel for them though....

i thought about that kinda box BUT gonna keep my spare tire.
even thinking of puting one of those wheel dollys in the trunk that way if its a rear flat i can jack it up and throw the rollers under the flat tire and slowly drive to get off the road and outta the way. dont wanna roll the rim any further than i have to on a flat!
