alpine vs. kicker...
i am finally buying my speakers this weekend. a pair of 6x9's and a pair for the doors...cant remember what size those are off the top of my head. ALL i am concerned about is performance. i dont have amps yet, but that is gonna be my next purchase. WHAT brand is better for performance?? WHY?? thank you

you've probably got 6.5" speakers in your doors, and 6x9 rear, most of us do.
I would say go either way, a midrange set of kickers will meet a lower type S setup of alpine. I like Alpine, but both are good companies, whatever's cheaper I guess.

ALPINE FTW!
Ya!
Type S sound nice too,, if you don't plan on amping the speakers ever, go with the type s, they will sound great...but if you want to amp them, grab the type r's in the least

Sub wise wouldnt Kickers be better. 3 of my friends had kicker comps and some had type r and 2 had type s and the kickers destroyed them. I dont know about 6x9 speakers but for subs from personal experience I am going to def say KICKER FTW

I have had very great experience with my old Kicker KS series 6.5" speakers. I had a Kicker amp on them. They don't sound tinny but they have really nice highs, if complemented with a sub, perfection is accomplished.
The old setup included for a truck.
a pair of Kicker KS 6.5" coaxial 2 way speakers
a loaded Kicker 10” L5 at 4 ohms in sealed truck box
a Kicker KX850 850 Watt 4 Channel Amp running door speakers and other 2 channels bridged for the sub.
