Default Amp install kit

Hey, I was wanting to install a couple of amps in my car. Was wondering if any of you know a good place to find multi-amp wiring kits for a really good price. Is there anything I should look out for thats special about certain types. I imagine a power wire is a power wire (I've cut into a 4 gauge Monster wire and there didnt seem to be anything special about it, like in there home audio stuff). Anyway, any input would help.

Monster wire is a joke. Its like the 'Bose' of speaker wire, its expensive and every average idiot thinks its special. I need to know what kind of power you are going to be running, normally for 2 amps a tad over 300 watts, your going to need 4 gauge from the battery and than a splitter a.k.a. distribution block and 8 guage to the amps.
( http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage....7&filter=block ). If your amps are more than 400 watts a pop, id go with 2ga wire from the battery to a splitter and then 4 gauge to the amps.

I won't be running anything too powerful. My basic setup is that I have a Type R 12 in a ported box, powered by the Alpine MRP-M350 amp....which pushes 350 watts RMS and 700 max. However, I found that the sub with ported box makes plenty of power, so usually the gain on the amp is around half or just under. I don't have new speakers yet, but I have the MTX 6304 4 channel that I want to use once I get my speakers. I believe it pushes around 50x4 RMS. I was thinking the 4 gauge split into 8 gauge, I believe thats how it was set up on my old car. I also have a 1 farad capacitor sitting around, so I figured I'd throw that into the mix.

Youll be fine with the 4 to dual 8 guage setup, trust me, your amp will never see 700 watts... not even in its dreams.

very very very very true. im gonne alot of home sound installs as well, copper is copper...no difference to it.

if you are doing a mulit amp. set up. ur going to need a multi wire batt. connection, and you might wanna get a yellow top batt if you can afford it, just so you dont stess ur cars electrical system
