amp question

Default amp question

hey everyone

ive got a clarion headunit in my civic, and i am looking at buyin an amp and a sub. the headunit doesnt have any rca outputs tho, and i was wondering do i need to buy a new headunnit with rcas so that i can run the amp? or can i just wire the speaker wires into the amp?

anyhelp would be great thanks

You can get a nice Pioneer or Kenwood head unit on ebay for $100 or less with RCA outs- do that.

Although RCA's are a better way to run an amp, you can simply run it off of speaker level inputs (accessories are usually included with any amp that is capable of "speaker level inputs"). You just tap into another speaker wire and use the signal from that. Make sure there are not any crossovers set on said speaker wire though.
