Anyone have experience with...
...the Avic-D3 by Pioneer? I have an '05 Civic EX SE and I'm thinking about upgrading the Stock SE system, but would love to make it worth my while.
Currently, I also have my Amateur (ham) Radio installed and the output from that tranceiver feeding the AUX input jack on the front of the Head Unit (a feature I could continue to use with the Avic) allowing me to listen to received radio communications through the car system.
I've heard about "unlocking" the system to allow Nav programming and DVD playback while the car is in motion - anyone have experience, or opinions about this?
Many thanks!

the d3 is awsome, only down side is it only holds one cd and if u want nav it has to be the nav cd, so buy the ipod adapter or satelite radio too because if ur naving then no cd, and pioneer is one of the easy ones with just have to ground it out, not like that bastard child jensen

you cant just groung the parking wire. it has to see the ground after it sees accessory. just hook it up to a little switch or buy a PTR7 from periferal. otherwise its a great unit. we sell quite a few with now problems

Thanks for the input.
I was talking to someone at BustBuy today and they were saying that I'd need an adapter for the install. Now, perhaps I'm a bit slow, but being I would be replacing the Double DIN stock radio in my '05 Civic Ex SE with a Double DIN AVIC-D3 - shouldn't it just be a clean swap? I don't think the bezel would need to be changed.
Anyone have any thoughts or input?
Many thanks in advance,
