Default Battery Help

i have a 94 honda civic and i'm having a little trouble... i added a system in my car, 700.5 kicker amp, 2 10" kicker subs, 6 pioneer interior speakers and 2 tweeters... the problem i'm having is that when the bass hits, the amp turns off and turns back on which i was told is because of the strength and the battery can't give it that much juice so i was told to put a capacitor or a optima battery... i chose to go the optima battery route cause i still wanna go some more work and i know the battery will keep getting drained... so i tried to buy the optima 51r battery but they don't sell them anymore... my question is, which battery will be a great subtitute... someone please help

since you already have ran some major power wire for that kick *** amp (not enough people amp their speakers) why dont you just relocate your battery and buy a full size?

Kinetik power cells. AND make sure you have an alternator that can keep up as well.

capacitor....it will save your alternator.

It will act as a surge protector for the battery.both a battery and capicitor are recommended though. but the capacitor with keep the amp from surging too much power from the electrical system. most people put a surge protector on home theaters and computers, why not your car stereo too? it will also allow you amp to recieve the full 14.4V that the amps run best at. most alternators, especially not civics', don't put out the full 14.4. in turn you will get better performance out of the amp while saving your alternator and battery at the same time

a cap doesnt up your voltage ...if your cars putting out say 12.5 thats all a cap is gonna pass ...caps are bandaids . our shop demo tahoe has 3 4000 watt amps and 3 500 watt amps no caps just batterys and alts.

ok I did a little research and it looks like I was misinformed about the whole 14.4V thing, I don't have a problem with admitting that I was wrong about that. also that tahoe has a lot bigger alternator than anything you could easily put on a civic (that I know of) so i still recomend getting a cap cuz it will make the system perform better. Just Read This it explains what a cap does.
