i bought my 1998 honda civic ex and it has an alarm but the guy i bought it from got the keyless remote stolen but there IS alarm on my car (not sure if its aftermarket or not...)

so if i buy a keyless remote like this....

most likely you have some sort of aftermarket, so those shouldn't work. you can get a new alarm system and rip the one in your car out

 

buy the new one...
