Default cd changer mounting location??? 4dr

1996 Civic 4dr.

I am trying to decide on a mounting location for a 10 disc changer. I don't want to hang it from the top of the trunk. Under the passenger seat would be nice but it doesn't fit. Then I checked on mounting it off to the side of the trunk floor (behind drivers tail light) but then I run into 2 issues. First the floor there is not flat for mounting and the carpet is laying there and needs to be able to move when accessing the spare tire.

Any recommendations?

I did this when I had my changer. I made a plate for it to mount on from the structure of the trunk right behind the carpet.

Maybe some more details on that... or also I am still open to ideas on other mounting spots.

You need to get a plate of thin aluminium and tapping screws. I even used washers to balance the plate. Once you have that you will have a flat mounting surface. You might need to predrill the holes because the luminum might bend if you apply too much pressure. I reused mine for an amp.
