Default CD changer questions

Hey all, I have a '96 Civic LX, and I currently have an older Alpine CD changer in the trunk. This changer uses M-bus to connect to the OEM head unit, and I want to replace the head unit. Would it have to be an old Alpine that also used M-bus? I think I saw that the OEM equipment is Pioneer, so would I be able to use Pioneer? Is there a connector that converts M-bus to AI Net or other types? I'd like to find out what my options are, short of replacing all of it. Thanks.

Default RE: CD changer questions

im not sure if it will still work but what do you really need 6 or 10 cds in your trunk for? one mp3 cd can hold hundreds of songs, if you have an ipod you can get an ipod ready model deck and plug your ipod in there and have thousands of songs. i work in a stereo shop and in the past year i have sold one cd changer and that was to a guy with a gm suv that didnt want to pay for the gmos harness that costs $100, i actualy almost sold one last night but the guy opted for a new hu because the cost is so similar.
