my cd player wont work in my 05 civic lx.my cel light came on and a friend disconnected the batter and now it wont work.the cd stays in but wont play.it say 5code while the cd is in.

 

this is built in anti-theft.so if someone rips the unit out it wont work what u need is to check your car paperwork to see if u have the code that u have to punch in if not you need to take the radio out and get the serial number thats on the bottem and call a local civic dealer and get the code sometimes they will tell u over the phone but most likely u will have to bring it to them to prove its not stolen.... or u can use this as an opportunity to get a aftermarket head unit

 

You need to re-enter the anti theft code after disconnecting the battery. The owner's manual will explain how. If you don't know the code, a dealer can look it up for you but you will probably have to pay them.

 

You can also drive by the dealer and they should fix it at no charge.
