Default Changed Cluster Bulbs, Now It Doesn't Light Up:(

I just changed the bulbs in my cluster to red non-LEDs (used 1 #194 and 4 #74's) and now it won't light up! I put them in the brown holders (theres 5 of them) now I got no light in the cluster when I turn on the headlights! What did I do wrong?

led's only work if you go positive to pos. and negative to neg. unlike light bulbs where it dosent really matter. make sure they are in the right way, there are pictures online that will help you determine the anode and cathode so you can figure out which is pos and neg. im not positive that this is your problem but its a possibility.

I didn't use LED's, just regular bulbs that were painted red (bought from Autolumination). nothing's lighting up, any thoughts?

its 96 (all the clusters are the same from 96-00) I don't think any Honda cluster comes with LED's from factory...

yeah, didnt think so, im only familiar with the 92-95 models. do other lights come on when you turn the headlights on like the climate controls? if not check the fuse box. did you try putting your old bulbs back in and seeing if they work?

try putting your old lights back in to see if they still work. it will tell us if its the bulbs or if its somewhere else in the system

you didn't paint the electrical contacts on the bulbs themselves did you?

Update: Theyre working (couldn't see it in the daylight). They look pink tho until the sun goes down, not liking that too much And I didn't paint the bulbs myself, I got them from autolumination.com. I also bought the bulbs for the climate control, but now I don't know if I wanna go through all that trouble...pink?!?! Uggh.
