Default To clear up all of the confusion

Hey, I am tired of hearing everybody saying what ipod adapter is best. I had alot of trouble figuring out which type of car adapter I should get in my vehicle too. I tried the FM transmitters and couldnt stand it. Static and all, blah! So I found this site that does reviews of differnt ipod connection kits and it helped me find the right one for my car, check it out. http://www.ipodcarkits.com/ I ended up going to one of the manufacturers and getting the piece that worked with my car and love it. There needs to be more review sites like this...

Tell me what type of adapter you have in your car and how well it works. Lets settle this once and for all.

I just connect my ipod strait to my amps and use it as my HU

Works great and costs about $10 to do. The only problem is the lack of equalization features. And you also have to have aftermarket amps installed to make the connection easy.

Got an alpine h/u with ipod capability and the high speed ipod cable between the h/u and my nano. Works absolutely marvelous!

By the way, when are you going to give us the make and model of yoursso we can compare? Then we'll "settle this once an for all"!

Yeah, I've used the DLO FM transmitter, the iTrip FM Transmitter, the Monster FM Transmitter, the audio jack (non-charging, control via iPod), and now finally an apline HU with iPod connect. It's by far the best. Everything is controlled through the HU or my remote. Great SQ, fast response, and it charges!!!

Alpine HU ftw!!!

off topic- it's always funny to see new post by people who've got a post count of ONE.....
/off topic

I'd assume the dirrect connection to an ipod controlable deck would be the only way to go....

You use your ipod as an hu? Lol hope you don't turn it up I can see **** blowing up quick.

Anyways the second version of the Pioneer is pretty badass. The Eclipse one is pretty badass too.

I just need a DIY on how to make an AUX come from my HU and i cant find one. Plus im kinda iffy on splicing wires if i dont have some detailed pictures or instructions. I have a ZUNE and the car kit they make is pretty crappy. But the Zune itself is WAY better than the ipod IMO

If you set your gains properly you don't have to worry about blowing speakers.

And from time to time I directly connect my ipod to my amps. Like I said, you lose a TON of features that most HU's have, but it is an easy way to get music to play from your ipod to speakers in your car if you don't have any type of adapter.

welcome to the future
thats actualy a good idea because the majority of people who care about sound quailty ditched fm radio years ago and are getting sick of juggling cds, so its down to ipods and sat. radio and you just saved yourself some cash by bypassing the hu

You lose a lot more than just features. A HU will actually process the sound to feed the amps, whiel the ipod, will basically be like using your car as headphones.
