Honestly man look into the RE SE's
OMFG! md you are my new best friend. RESONANT ENGINEERING!!!!!!!!!!!

RE Audio makes the most amazing subs ever hehe. get 2 12" SE's with some pg,directed or JL, amps. a yellowtop batt. and maybe a sting cap. and you will have a beautiful system.

sure can. you just have to wire that batt. to your alternator of corse. so you might want to also think about a larger alternator if you have to money. REAL easy to replace it yourself

Underpowering a subwoofer will only harm it if you are cranking the amp's gains beyond clipping point trying to power the subwoofer.

so by using an amp that is too small to pwer the subs, the gain must be turned up high to get them to play loud, which can damage the speaker, and the amp.

But neither the amp or the sub are doing the damage, it is the user who is trying to get something he doesn't have. Buy a 500 watt amp knowing what you are getting, and not trying to get the sound of a 1000 watt amp out of it. Using a 500 watt amp on a 600 watt will not hurt the sub, because 100 watts is not going to make but like a .5db differance, which is not detectable by the human ear.
