Gauge Question
Hey guys this isn't Nick its his brother I gave him a hand tonite installing his glow gauges but ran into some problems, I tapped the power into the headlight wire but it doesn't work on high beam also for my car the needles are removeable so I assumed his would be to no such luck so the rpms sticks a little now and he broke off the temp gauge, but thats not the problem... problem is when he turns on his high beam the gauges shut off and thats not going to work out, What wire do I have to tap into to get them to work when his parking lights and high and low beams are on I tapped into the red with white stripe and thats just the headlight power. Thanks again guys I feel bad cause I feel like I screwed up his car but I am looking into getting him a new gauge cluster.
eeeek ouch...... yea I've read several times that the civic needles are not to be monkied with. Well first the new cluster is a must and hopefully the speedo needle is fine because it's alot easier to swap the speedo assembly than to try to roll the mileage on the new cluster to match (even appart in my hand running the lil tumbler with my finger it'd take damn near forever).
For the power option, there is a pair of wires that come out of one of the bulb sockets and goes up and over to the front of the gauge to light up the needles, simply take your positive lead and test both wires and see which one is positive (not entirely sure which one will be which depending on how the wires are twisted).

just tap the power wire into the PARKING LIGHT wire and youll be fine with them lite all the time...
not sure which wire BUT a typical light tester and some probing should be easy enough.... just dont probe the air bag wires.LOL
