Default head unit lights

ive got a kenwood head unit fitted to my 98' coupe but the unit doesnt light up.

the head unit was in the car when i bought it and the previous owner said it never lit up but he fitted it himself. i am sure i read somewhere about a method of bridging something with a short piece of wire to make aftermarket head units light up but i cannot find it anywhere again.

it is really pi**ing me off so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take it a shop that can test it for you. Dont start crossing wires at random. You will blow something out.
