hes not allowed to give u a receipt because if he ****s something up and u have a receipt hes liable for it...i say u go somewhere else...i think if u buy the alarm from bestbuy they do the installation free...soo much easier and they give u a warranty...IMO

Those are all manufactured by DEI systems, which makes audio as well. DEI is a reputable brand, I would buy either of the 3 names without worry.

I am looking at a low end viper myself, but I would settle with any midrange Hornet for sure. My local dealer does both, and has a similar price, 295 I think, full install with remote start.

I agree though, get a warranty or something from the installer. My local guy burned a car up once, but his insurance paid for it.

best buy does install remote start and alarms for free.. its included in the price of the unit. but as far as i know they will NOT install remote start on a 5 spd. too much liability. personally im a DIY'er and i say read up... do your research and do it yourself.. ask any questions about something you're not sure of...that way you know where to start looking if something goes wrong... i say the same thing about installing subs or speakers.. it really helps to get to know how the system you're installing works because then you dont have to go back and pay someone $50-$100+ every time something goes wrong.

idk thats just my opinion. but yes. get a receipt from whoever does it. NEVER BUY ANYTHING WITHOUT A PAPER TRAIL. cuz if something happens... you're responsible because you cant trace it back to anyone.

There are a very "few" remote starter manufacturers, designing for manual transmission. Compustar, Astroflex, and AST...(Ultrastart) They are designed with safety features such as exiting the car with the keys in your hand and the e brake set. When you close the door the engine shuts down. It's ready for starting....in nuetral. If you open the door without remote starting, the safety sequence is broken, it will not remote start. Even if you are a "do it yourselfer" you would not be advised to try and jerry rig your way around a clutch switch. Be smart, get a unit that is manual safe. NOTHING DEI makes if designed for a manual trans. Although they do own Astroflex now....so thats only half true. Be safe man. One mistake and you run your next door neighbors kid over, or YOUR own dog, or put a big hole in you garage door.

The dei stuff dose not have a manual transmision ****ific remote start like compustar and such but you still need to hook up the wire that needs to be grounded to start so if you were to hook that up to the parking brake along with being the only person to drive the car and if you want some added to make sure it wont start add a togel hooked to a relay so that too needs to be set so that the remote start will work incase your not the only one driving the car all the time. If you have cruise control and want to keep it hook that togel up to the clutch switch and as the safty for your parking brake. As for the warenty I don't know of any one who will give you a recipt for the instal but if it is a custom shop and he could ring it up as a carry out unless the hornet stuff is like the viper stuff where it can only be sold with instal. The python stuff from DEI can be sold as a carry out and no instal on the other hand so I know it dosen't hold true for all dei products. I would see what warenty the hornet comes with too I know some of the stuff comes with a lifetime warenty on the brain other stuff comes with the 12 month warenty. As for instaling it yourself depends on what year if your not fermilure with the electrical system of cars wouldn't sugest it yourself yes it is nice to know how stuff works in your car but can be easy to ground out a live wire if you don't know what your doing or put power to a ground and burn stuff up.
